In This Month´s Issue:

Our October issue offers a new feature called ‘Spotlight on’ which highlights a different knitwear trend every month – direct from the catwalk. This time we focus on sculptural knits and we tell you where you can find inspiring courses, books and patterns and how to put the look together. As usual, you’ll find exclusive designs from your favourite designers such as the charming Greengage jumper by Sian Brown and the Great Outdoors men’s sweater by Pat Menchini. Erika Knight whips up a pair of stylish mittens in her ‘More stash than cash’ feature and Bronwyn Lowenthal, founder of hand knit company Lowie tells of her life, travels and her new book – Head to toe knits. All this as well as news, reviews, events and much, much more.

Apologies all round!

Sneak peek of February issue on sale 21 January!

For our February issue we tried to steer clear of anything too romantic, schmultzy and Valentine-y, it's such a cliche in the magazine world when everyone has the same theme and we just didn't fancy eyelash yarn heart shaped iPod covers. Instead we got inspired by vintage looks and the inspirational women of the the Land Girls Army of the Second World War. Much more classy. It turns out this was a pretty romantic time and the fashions and trends reflected this. They may not have had much to work with, but the chic timeless style that came out of this period when you had to make the most of what you had, is none the less romantic, hopefull and glamorous in the face of adversity.

Here's a sneak peek at some of the garments featuring in this month's gorgeous gallery from our photo shoot that took place at the amazing Weald and Downland Museum in West Sussex (you wouldn't know it chucked it down all day on the shoot!).

This beautiful bell-sleeved top is from Susan Crawford's A Stitch in Time

Only in Knitting!

Happy 2010!

Happy New Year everyone!

The first week back after the lovely Christmas break has been a bit of a funny one, with Sussex under inches of snow and the trusty British public transport system stumped. What is this cold, white stuff? So if the weather is insisting we don't go outside but stay in bed, who are we to argue?

On the other hand, 2010 is going to bring lots of exciting changes to Knitting. We think it is just going to get better and better and we're sure you'll agree, so here's to a fantastic New Year!

Love

The Knitting team
